Whose voice is in your head?
Mostly Organized Dispatch
Hey Friend!
I’ve got 2 things for you today.
THING 1: Whose voice do you hear in your head when you make decisions about clutter?
Is it your own, or is it from your parents or grandparents who have passed down their vision of the world, their version of what should be considered valuable or not?
I was catching up on YouTube recently and came across this video explaining 5 specific patterns of guilt that lead us to keep stuff we don’t actually want. The creator here is speaking specifically about Gen X women, but I think it applies to a lot more people.
If you have a listen, I’d love to know if any of these resonate with you.
p.s. Sometimes, after I’ve worked with clients, they tell me it’s my voice they hear. That’s a big responsibility, but I’m happy to take it on 🙂.
THING 2: Join us for "Do I Need This?"
YEG Organizers is proud to host a screening of “Do I Need This?”, a quirky and relatable, award-winning documentary film about the filmmaker's complicated relationship to her family possessions.
More than a movie screening, you’ll be able to meet with our lovely group of Professional Organizers, openly discuss the journey of decluttering and getting organized, and learn about available resources.
This evening is open to the public for anyone interested in learning more about the effects of the stuff in our homes, connecting with the community, and meeting like-minded people.
I hope you’ll join us on July 19th at the Metro Cinema. Tickets are only $12.
